The Marcher Fleischwerke is a traditional Austrian family business with a 90-year history. Founded in 1929 by Franz Marcher as a livestock trade, the company was successfully transformed into a meat processing business in the second half of the previous century under the leadership of his son Norbert.

Today, the company is managed by Norbert, Gernot, and Herfried Marcher, representing the third generation. Over the years, starting from its headquarters in Villach, it has become Austria's largest and most modern meat producer. With a turnover of approximately 653 million euros (fiscal year 2022), the Marcher Group is now the eighth-largest Austrian food and beverage manufacturer. The entire corporate group employs around 1,800 people nationwide at ten locations. Annually, the company processes 160,000 cattle and 1,000,000 pigs, exporting its products to 40 countries in 4 continents.

AUSTRIA'S LARGEST PORK CUTTING PLANT IN VILLACH

The Villach facility, serving as the logistics center for the entire company, primarily focuses on the cutting of pork. With a cutting capacity of 700 pig halves per hour, it is the largest of its kind in Austria. Additionally, consumer packages for the retail sector are produced here. The range of self-service counter packages for the retail sector includes steaks, schnitzels, and meat cubes from beef and pork, as well as minced meat. Since 2012, a dedicated section has been set up for the production of raw frozen burger patties, which now supplies seven countries.
