In Villach, music brings the city together. Throughout the year, THE CITY ROCKS turns up the volume, bringing live music to local venues and drawing restaurants, cafés and music lovers into the action. The result is a vibrant atmosphere that spills into the streets and gives the city center a different rhythm.
For those new to the city, it is also an opportunity to discover local places and experience a different side of everyday life in Villach.
FROM SPRING TO AUTUMN: MUSIC ACROSS THE CITY
Launched in 2026, THE CITY ROCKS has already brought three seasonal editions to Villach.
The year began with the “Spring Warm-Up”, featuring 16 venues. The “Summer Stage” followed with 23 concerts across 23 locations, before the “Autumn Session” continued the series with 19 acts at 19 locations. Each edition brought its own unique atmosphere and showed that the concept can draw crowds to the city center beyond the summer months.
MORE THAN MUSIC
Live performances are only part of the experience. Food and drinks play an important role, too, with venues such as Pasta Mama, Charles, Kaffeeteria, Villacher Brauhof and 29er taking part in different editions and combining music with their own culinary offerings.
You might start the evening with dinner, stop for a drink while listening to a band or move between venues to catch different performances. There is no need to stick to one location for the whole evening.
For newcomers, this is an easy way to get to know local businesses in a relaxed setting. You might even find a new favorite café, bar or restaurant along the way.
A DIFFERENT SIDE OF VILLACH
From rock and pop to jazz, funk, soul, Latin and electronic music, THE CITY ROCKS brings a range of musical styles to the city center. With performances spread across different venues, you can always hear something new as you move from one place to the next.
The event combines music with the city's food and hospitality scene, making it easy to turn a concert into a full evening out with friends.

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST: THE NEW YEAR'S EDITION
After Spring, Summer and Autumn, THE CITY ROCKS has one more highlight in store for 2026. The fourth edition, “Grand Final”, is scheduled for the end of the year as part of Villach's New Year's celebrations, with a main stage at Hauptplatz adding to the festive atmosphere.
