SUMMER PLEASURES FOR ALL: THE PUBLIC LIDOS IN AND AROUND VILLACH
In this blogpost, we explore the public lidos and lake accesses in Villach and show what has happened since last year in terms of modernisation, leisure activities, and improvements. First of all, the most important info: all of the mentioned lidos are completely free and open to the public. The city's lidos offer a variety of experiences for different needs and guarantee a perfect summer for everyone.
The season already started on May 1st with many innovations. The free lake accesses were named after their target groups, with the additional designation "Beach".
Examples are the "Panorama Beach" at Lake Faak, the "Bikebeach" at the lakeside resort of St. Andrä at Lake Ossiach, the "Naturebeach" at Lake Vassach and the "Greenbeach" at the former Tschebullbad at Lake Faak. Clear signage and uniform branding identify these locations as official facilities of the City of Villach.
THE PANORAMA BEACH ON LAKE FAAK
The Panorama Beach in Drobollach is Carinthia's largest and most modern free lido. Here you will find a modernized jetty in the western area and charging stations for electric vehicles.
Amenities include a lift for people with disabilities, a children's playground, a water slide, a bistro, and a small shop where you can find everything you need for a day at the lake.
THE GREENBEACH AT FAAKER LAKE (former Tschebullbad)
In addition to the wonderful sunbathing lawn, you can play table tennis here, and there are several changing rooms and sanitary facilities. The Greenbeach is also easily accessible by bike.
THE SUNSETBEACH ON LAKE FAAKER SEE
The Sunsetbeach in Egg is not only the perfect place to enjoy the evening hours, it also has an excellent infrastructure for families. The sunbathing lawn offers plenty of shady spots and the large water mushroom can be enjoyed by children. The lake access and changing rooms are handicapped accessible and senior-friendly.
THE BIKEBEACH IN ST. ANDRÄ ON LAKE OSSIACH
A well-maintained and family-friendly beach awaits us here with a large sunbathing lawn, shady trees and a beach buffet. Special features: Child-friendly access to the lake, two beautiful jetties and WLAN.
THE NATUREBEACH AT LAKE VASSACH
In addition to free admission, parking is also free here. Other amenities include a toilet facility, changing rooms, seating areas, and a children's slide.
THE ACTIONBEACH AT SILBERSEE
This location is a popular spot for youngsters and the young at heart. Water sports activities like stand-up paddling and kayaking are big here. The Actionbeach has an Adventure Park for children and a barbecue area for family outings. Incidentally, the north shore is "smoke-free" - cigarette smoke is not welcome here. Another plus point: there is a special dog zone.
THE RELAXBEACH AT LAKE MAGDALENEN
The city's freely accessible lake access at Lake Magdalenen has also been completely renovated. Because of its somewhat exposed location, the bicycle is the ideal means of transport for a fine day of swimming at the Relaxbeach. New here at Magdalenensee is an entertaining and also shaded playground for the youngest guests. The bath is also equipped with free WLAN and offers barrier-free WC facilities and changing rooms.
